Nissan PIXO brings the brand back to Europe’s smallest-car segment

September 23, 2026 · Europe · Official Nissan News
Nissan has unveiled the PIXO, a new battery-electric city car that will return the company to Europe’s A-segment when customer deliveries begin in early 2027.
Designed specifically for European cities, the PIXO uses a 27.5-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery—which Nissan says is its first LFP battery offered in a European-market model—and provides up to 259 km, or about 161 miles, of WLTP range.
Charging is rated at 50 kW DC, with Nissan estimating a 15-to-80-percent charge in approximately 28 minutes. An 11-kW bidirectional AC charger is standard across the range. The PIXO’s electric motor produces 60 kW, while the car measures just under 3.8 meters long with a 9.9-meter turning circle.
Despite its small footprint, Nissan lists 356 liters of cargo capacity with the rear seats in place and 1,221 liters with them folded.
An Alliance-developed Nissan

The PIXO is also another example of Nissan leaning on its Renault partnership to broaden its European lineup without developing every product entirely in-house.
Nissan says the PIXO was developed in partnership with Renault, designed by Nissan and will be manufactured at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia. Nissan specifically points to the Alliance as a way to bring new products to market more quickly and efficiently.
That makes the PIXO interesting beyond its modest performance figures. While vehicles like the Z occupy the enthusiast end of Nissan’s lineup, models such as the PIXO show how the company is attempting to fill out its broader European range through shared development and manufacturing.
The city car also includes Nissan’s e-Pedal system, automated emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance, along with the MyNissan app and Google built-in, including Gemini, for navigation and connected functions.
Arriving in 2027
European customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in early 2027. Nissan says market-specific pricing, specifications and preorder information will begin rolling out in December 2026.
For now, the PIXO represents something Nissan has not offered European buyers in some time: a purpose-built entry in the continent’s smallest-car class, this time powered entirely by electricity.
